I am walking for kids with cancer on Sunday 29 March 2026 for Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF). Funds raised from Walk for Kids with Cancer will go directly to the frontline of children’s healthcare across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, including the Kids Cancer Centre at Randwick and the Cancer Centre for Children at Westmead.

Together we can help find answers to rare diseases like childhood cancer, faster ways to diagnose, support clinical trials, help build clinical and patient family-centered spaces in hospitals, and create positive patient experiences for kids and their families.

No child should ever go through cancer but those who do deserve our all.

Brooke Story

Brooke Maree Fretwell: 6/7/99 - 4/1/15 15 Years Young Forever

Brooke was the most selfless, courage’s and loving young lady to ever walk this earth. She loved to Bake, attend Folk Art classes, Swim and go to the footy to support the mighty Panthers.

Brooke battled Children’s Brain Cancer 3 times in her short life. First at age 2, again aged 5 and her final battle aged 14. She was a fighter.

This is some of the treatment Brooke had to endure in her short life:

• 6 Open Brain Surgery Operations

• 6 Other General Operations

• 40 Doses of Brain Radiotherapy

• 20 Doses of Chemotherapy

• Gene Therapy Clinical Trial (6 months)

• 50+ MRI Scans

• 20+ Anaesthetics

• 20+ Blood & Platelet Transfusions

That is just a small summary of the treatment Brooke received, and she handled it all with Grace, courage & Strength.

150 Australian Kids die every Year from Cancer and only 4% of total government funds for Cancer Research goes to Kids Research.
