Walk for Kids with Cancer 2026

I am walking for kids with cancer

I am walking for kids with cancer on Sunday 29 March 2026 for Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation (SCHF). Funds raised from Walk for Kids with Cancer will go directly to the frontline of children’s healthcare across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, including the Kids Cancer Centre at Randwick and the Cancer Centre for Children at Westmead.

Together we can help find answers to rare diseases like childhood cancer, faster ways to diagnose, support clinical trials, help build clinical and patient family-centered spaces in hospitals, and create positive patient experiences for kids and their families.

No child should ever go through cancer but those who do deserve our all.

Why I’m Walking for Kids with Cancer — As a Parent and Role Model

Sunday 1st Feb

This March, I’ll be taking part in the Walk for Kids with Cancer, and it’s something I’m doing not just for myself — but for my son, and for the values I want him to grow up with.

As a parent of a 5-year-old son, you see the world differently. You notice the small moments more. You think about the future more deeply. And you become acutely aware of how precious and fragile childhood really is. Watching your child grow, laugh, and learn makes it impossible not to think about the children whose early years are being shaped by hospital visits, treatments, and uncertainty.

No child should have to face cancer.

No parent should have to watch their child endure it.

Children with cancer display extraordinary courage and resilience — often without fully understanding why they need to be so brave. Behind each of these children is a family doing everything they can to stay strong, hopeful, and present in the face of unimaginable challenges. Their strength deserves recognition, support, and action.

For me, this walk is about more than fundraising. It’s about leading by example. It’s about showing my son that when we see something unfair or heartbreaking in the world, we don’t look away — we step forward. We do what we can, even when the problem feels bigger than us.

By participating in this walk, I’m choosing to turn compassion into action. The funds raised support vital research, treatment, and care through the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation — helping give children the best possible chance at a healthy future and providing families with support when they need it most.

This walk isn’t about distance or endurance. It’s about standing in solidarity with children who are fighting battles far tougher than any walk. It’s about hope, responsibility, and the belief that small actions, when done together, can create meaningful change.

If you’re able to support this cause — through a donation, sharing my page, or offering encouragement — please know that it genuinely matters. Every contribution helps build a future where more children can grow up strong, healthy, and free from cancer.

Thank you for supporting this journey and for helping me show my son the kind of world we should all be striving to build.

One step at a time, together.
